The act of meditation has been existent since the time of Buddha/Dalai Lama as a form of reflection, realization, focus, and relaxation. In the Western world, Meditation is becoming a more common practice for people who need to relax and quiet their mind from all our modern day stressors. Often we notice how fast time flies; what day it is, how many meals we’ve eaten, or worst, we neglect out sleep because there is just too much to do. Almost all of us are have experienced times when we were not able to sleep well because of overthinking, and, no matter how much your body wants to sleep, your mind just won’t shut down. The best way to prevent this instance is to meditate, to de-clutter your mind hours before you sleep so that not only can your body rest, but also your mind.

Meditation has a lot of benefits for the mind and body especially when it is done before going to sleep. Meditating slows your body and mind, allowing you to quieten the inner monologue to the point that where it is easier to fall asleep naturally, instead of forcing yourself to do so. Those that meditate before bedtime, say that meditating allows more restful, longer deep sleep, and upon waking you’re more likely to be in a positive, energized mood.

Meditation is also helpful in improving your physical and mental health. Specifically in:

Lowering blood pressure

Improving your immune system

Increasing the production of serotonin that gives you that good mood feeling

Reducing stress

Increasing creativity, intuition and many others.

Through meditation, you will be sure that you have given yourself enough time to appreciate the little things in life. Use meditation to declutter your mind and focus on what’s important.
